Bray Choral Society to perform in Leuven

As part of their 30th Anniversary celebrations, Bray Choral Society will be performing a free concert in St Joseph's Church, Leuven on Saturday 4th June at 19:00.  All are welcome.

Founded in 1986, Bray Choral Society is a successful choir performing a wide range of choral works including major works by Handle, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Rossini and Vivaldi, along with short concerts and recitals including Byrd, Bach, Elgar, Stanford and more composers of the 20th Century such as Rutter, Bodley and De Barra.

“Our mission is to perform a wide range of choral works to the highest standard, both for the social and cultural enrichment of our members and for the enjoyment of the widest possible audience.”

The Society has taken part in many choral competitions around Ireland with Success in New Ross, Arklow, Navan, Sligo and Cork. In recognition of the millennium year and augmented by local choirs from around the country, we performed the Verdi Requiem to great acclaim in both Bray and Arklow. This was such a successful event that Bray Choral Society was awarded the 2001 Bray Chamber of Commerce Endeavor Award for Culture and the Arts for the second time. The following year, we sold out the National Concert Hall with a performance of Mendelssohn’s Elijah. Frank Kelly is the founding and current Musical Director and Cormuin Ó Raghallaigh is accompanist.
